Alexander is a town in Genesee County, New York. It is part of the Western New York region and is approximately forty miles east of downtown Buffalo. , the town population was 2,899. Inside the town is a village named Alexander and a small part of the village of Attica. The town also encompasses the hamlets of Brookville, East Alexander, West Bethany, and Ray.
