Traffic Tickets in Alexander, New York
The main roads in Alexander are New York State Route 98 (Alexander Road) and US Route 20 (Broadway Road). These roads intersect each other at the center of town. NYS-98 heads north-south and US-20 runs east-west. As NYS-98 approaches the north town boundary it passes through the hamlet of North Alexander. It then continues out of town towards the City of Batavia. These mentioned roads generate most of the town’s traffic violations. A typical ticket is where a motorist fails to slow down from 55 mph when entering the Village of Alexander.
Any traffic ticket issued in town is made answerable to the Alexander Town Court (Town of Alexander Justice Court). The court is located in the Alexander Town Hall. This cobblestone building was erected in the 1830’s. It is even more unique because it is one of very few cobblestone structures to reach three stories high. In 1973, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
