Castile (pronounced CASS-tile) is a town in Wyoming County, New York. It is located approximately sixty miles southeast of the city of Buffalo. , the town's population was estimated at 3,000. Castile was established in 1821 and derived its name from a historical region in Spain. Inside the town is a village also named Castile. The village is the main residential area and is where the town offices and services are located.
