Ellicott, New York
Ellicott is a town in Chautauqua County, New York. It is considered part of the Western New York region. The town is roughly nine miles north of the New York - Pennsylvania state line and 70 miles south of the City of Buffalo Ellicott surrounds the City of Jamestown to the north, east, and west. The town also has several miles of shoreline along the scenic Chautauqua Lake.
As of January of 2022, Ellicott’s population was 8, 849. The town includes two villages, Falconer and Celeron. Falconer is the main population area and location of town offices. The Ellicott Justice Court is also located in Falconer.

The Southern Tier Expressway (I-86/NYS-17) traverses east-west the town of Ellicott. The speed limit is 65 mph. This portion of the Expressway is patrolled by Trooper “A” of the New York State Police. New York State is more serious about speeding than other states. From the west, US-Route 430 (Fluvanna Avenue) does the same, heading directly into the heart of Jamestown and connects to I-86 via on-ramps. Approaching from the north, New York State Route 60 (North Main Street) enters the city as it passes the local Jamestown Airport.
Town roads are also patrolled by Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department and the Ellicott Police Department.
