Ellington is a rural town in Chautauqua County, New York. It is considered part of the Western New York region and is approximately 60 miles south of Buffalo. , the estimated town population was 1,800. Ellington was established in 1824. Every year the town hosts a festival known as the “Ellington Town Picnic” where residents participate in outdoor activities such as woodcutting contests, horseshoe throwing contests, fireworks spectating and square-dancing.
