Ellington, New York
Ellington is a rural town in Chautauqua County, New York. It is considered part of the Western New York region and is a little more than an hour south of Buffalo. As of January of 2022, the town population was 1,745. Ellington was established in 1824. Every year the town hosts a festival known as the “Ellington Town Picnic” where residents participate in outdoor activities such as woodcutting contests, horseshoe throwing contests, fireworks spectating and square-dancing. This festival has occurred annually since 1912 except during the years of World War 1 and World War 2.
