Freedom is the name of a town in Cattaraugus County, New York. It is in the Western New York region, around fifty miles south-east of the City of Buffalo. Freedom’s population as of December of 2021 was estimated to be 2,378. The town covers roughly forty square miles. The town area was initially settled in 1811. Several communities and hamlets make up Freedom, such as Camp Scouthaven, Elton, Elton Station, Fairview, and Sandusky.
