Ischua (pronounced ish-way) is a rural town in Cattaraugus County, New York. It is an hour drive south east from the City of Buffalo. The town population as of November of 2021 was 848. Ischua covers approximately thirty-two square miles. It was established in 1846 and is technically the second Town of Ischua. The first town was disbanded and renamed into Franklinville. Ischua is home to the Cuba Creamery, which was one of the largest cheese and butter manufacturers in the late 1800’s.
