Little Valley is a town in Cattaraugus County, New York. Inside the town is a village also named Little Valley, which is the town’s main population area. The village also acts as the Cattaraugus County seat. This means it is the location of all the Cattaraugus County government offices.
, Little Valley’s population was estimated at 1,800. The town was first settled around 1807 but was abandoned during the War of 1812, due to fighting in its proximity. The town was re-settled in 1818. In the 19th century, the area had a successful dairy industry and Little Valley had a bustling rail station on the Erie Railroad line.
