Napoli (pronounced na-po-LIE) is a rural town in Cattaraugus County, New York. Its name is derived from the Italian name for “Naples”. The area is considered part of the Western New York region. The closest metropolitan area is the small city of Salamanca, around ten miles east. The larger city of Buffalo is around sixty miles north. Napoli makes up thirty-six and a half square miles. The terrain is mostly hilly., the town’s population was approximately 1,200. A large number of town residents belong to the Amish community.
