Wilson is a town in Niagara County, New York. It is located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario, approximately twenty-five miles northwest of the City of Niagara Falls and approximately forty miles north of downtown Buffalo. The town is considered part of the Western New York region. , the population was estimated at 5,800. Wilson is a relatively large town, covering approximately fifty-two square miles. The town encompasses a number of hamlets and a Village of Wilson. The village is the main population area and the location of most town offices.

Near the lake edge, NYS-425 terminates when it intersects with New York State Route 18 (NYS-18). NYS-18 runs parallel to the lake edge as it traverses town east and west. The more rural areas in town are served by county routes and smaller roads. County Route 111 (Beebe Road) in particular spans the entire east town line as it heads north-south. The western portion of town is served by County Route 83 (Randall Road). All county routes in Wilson lead to NYS-425 or directly into Wilson Village. For a brief moment in the town’s south-west corner, New York State Route 93 (Youngstown-Lockport Road) falls under Wilson’s jurisdiction. It quickly enters and exits town after leaving the hamlet of Ransomville.
