Arcade is the name of a town in Wyoming County, New York. It is located approximately fifty miles southeast of downtown Buffalo and is considered part of the Western New York region. The town is fairly large, covering roughly forty-seven square miles. Arcade was settled in 1807 as the “Town of China”. In 1866 the town received its current name. Within the town is a Village of Arcade. It is the town’s main population area and the location of most town businesses. There are also three hamlets known as Arcade Center, East Arcade, and Punkshire Corners., the total town population was estimated at 4,100.

The town’s two arterial roads are New York State Route 39 and New York State Route 98. NYS-39 runs east-west through town and acts as the village’s primary road. It terminates to the northeast in the town of Leicester in Livingston County. On the western side, it runs until the town of Collins in Erie County. NYS-98 enters town from the north (via town of Carlton on Lake Ontario) and runs south until it merges with NYS-39. Route 98 exits the town to the south and continues until the town of Great Valley in Cattaraugus County. The remaining town area is served by smaller county and local roads. The town does not have its own police department. It receives police services from the New York State Police and the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office. Both agencies are authorized to conduct traffic stops and issue citations returnable to the Arcade Town Court.
