Caledonia is a town in Livingston County, New York. “Caledonia” is the Latin name for Scotland. The name was given by early Scottish settlers. The town is located approximately twenty-five miles southwest of Rochester and is considered part of the Rochester Metropolitan area. Within the town is a village of Caledonia. It is the main population area of the town. In addition to the village, the town encompasses the hamlets of Baker, Canawaugus, Maxwell, Menzie Crossing, Taylor and Toggletown. , the combined population of Caledonia was estimated at 4,000.
