Williamsville is a village in Erie County, New York. The village is split between the towns of Amherst and Cheektowaga. Most village residents live in Amherst. Williamsville is approximately ten miles northeast of downtown Buffalo and is considered part of the Buffalo Metropolitan area. As of June of 2023 the village population was estimated at 5,500. Williamsville was incorporated in 1850 and named after an early area settler named Jonas Williams.
