Avon is a village in Livingston County, New York. It is located approximately twenty-five miles south of Downtown Rochester. It is also located approximately ten miles north of Conesus Lake. This lake is the western most of the eleven Finger Lakes. The village is within the Town of Avon. It is the main commercial area of the town. , the village population was estimated at 3,350.

Most traffic tickets in the village originate from its main roads. The main east-west street in the village is US-20/NYS-5. Through the village it is called East Main Street and West Main Street. A busy north-south road is New York State Route 39. Through the village, the NYS-39 is called Wadsworth Avenue. Its northern terminus is at West Main Street. It brings motorists between Avon and Geneseo, to the south. The main road going north from West Main Street is Rochester Street (County Route 26). The CR-26 brings motorists north to Henrietta.

The town court has jurisdiction over matters that arise from the rest of the town outside of the village.
